Join us for an incredible visual journey through the diverse settings of the Riviera Nayarit, Oct. 31-Nov. 5. Renowned photographers Robert Caplin and Peter Lockley will lead you through the colorful town of Sayulita, the incredible nature preserves of San Blas, the lively fish markets of La Cruz, and the hidden surf spots in Punta Mita. Tuition includes five nights of luxury accommodations at the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita.
We’ll go on different adventures each day and photograph a variety of situations, from landscapes, to portraits, to stories utilizing natural light and artificial light.
The group will edit and look at photographs taken during our adventure workshop to offer opinions, improvements, and analysis of the images.
Throughout the workshop you will be given hands-on gear demonstrations by our fabulous instructors and sponsors. You’ll also partake in lectures by the faculty and local photo pros to help inspire your photographic journey and develop the skills to capture beautiful images on your own.

Robert Caplin is an editorial and commercial photographer based in Manhattan who specializes in travel, documentary, celebrities, and portraiture. He’s a contributor to The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and The Wall Street Journal and his work has been published in National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, TIME, and Newsweek. His clients include individuals such as Justin Bieber, Tiki Barber, and Victoria Justice and organizations such as The International Emmy’s, Abercrombie & Fitch, and American Electric Power. Robert splits his time between New York and Barcelona and has recently made numerous trips to the the island of Maui where he’s found some of the greatest spots to experience and photograph.
Peter Lockley is a sports and portrait photographer who works with editorial and corporate clients to create dynamic and story telling images. Peter began his career at the University of Colorado, majoring in journalism and fine art. After graduating in 2003, he spent five years as the chief sports photographer for the Washington Times, covering four major sports teams and five local colleges. He has since gone on to work with clients like ESPN the Magazine, the Colorado Rockies, Clarkson Creative, and the NCAA. Peter currently lives in Denver, Colorado, with his wife Emily.

What does my workshop registration get me exactly?
Registration includes camera equipment rentals, all instruction, demonstration, classroom and field sessions as well as accommodation at the Four Seasons.
Is transportation provided?
For maximum flexibility, during and outside of workshop hours we encourage students to have their own transportation. We may however carpool to certain locations and if transportation is an issue please let us know and we will look for alternate solutions.
What does a typical workshop day look like?
A typical workshop day includes instruction, one or more on location shooting sessions, and time for editing and reviewing of work. Each day may vary in order to best utilize the natural light and opportunity of each location.
Why Punta Mita?

Do I need to bring my own camera?
You are welcome to bring your own camera, but it is not a necessity. We’ve partnered with some of the best brands in the business who will be on-site with a variety of their newest cameras and lenses for you to shoot with during the workshop!
Do I need to be an experienced photographer?
No, all skill levels are welcome, and with our small student to teacher ratio we will have ample opportunity to cater the course to each student’s needs.
